About This Policy
The South Australian Repeater Group Inc. (SARG) is committed to providing a fair, inclusive and supportive environment for its members. This policy sets out SARG's approach to equal opportunity, anti-discrimination, grievances and conflict resolution.
Its purpose is to ensure members are treated with fairness and respect, that concerns can be raised appropriately, and that disputes are handled in a constructive, confidential and consistent manner.
What the Policy Covers
Equal Opportunity
SARG is committed to ensuring members, volunteers and participants have equal opportunities and are treated fairly and respectfully.
Anti-Discrimination
Discrimination, harassment and victimisation are not acceptable within SARG activities or membership.
Grievance Procedure
The policy provides a structured process for raising concerns, making a formal complaint, investigation, resolution and appeal.
Conflict Resolution
Members are encouraged to resolve disputes through respectful communication, mediation and, where necessary, Committee involvement.
Member Responsibilities
Members are expected to treat others with respect, courtesy and dignity and to support an inclusive environment.
Confidentiality
Complaints and disputes are to be handled confidentially and information shared only where necessary to resolve the issue.
Grievance Process
The policy sets out the following five-step grievance process:
Step 1 – Informal Resolution
Members are encouraged to try to resolve concerns directly where appropriate.
Step 2 – Formal Complaint
If informal resolution is unsuccessful, a written complaint may be submitted to the SARG Secretary.
Step 3 – Investigation
The matter is investigated fairly and impartially, with relevant parties given an opportunity to provide information.
Step 4 – Resolution
An appropriate resolution may include mediation, disciplinary action, training or other corrective measures.
Step 5 – Appeal
A party dissatisfied with the outcome may submit an appeal in writing within the period specified in the policy.
Responsibilities of Members
All SARG members are expected to treat others with respect, courtesy and dignity, support an inclusive and welcoming environment, comply with the policy, and report serious concerns appropriately.

Rules & Regulations
Operational and membership guidelines of the South Australian Repeater Group Inc.
Purpose
These Rules and Regulations support the Constitution of the South Australian Repeater Group Inc. (SARG) and provide practical guidance for members, committee members, operators and users of SARG-supported systems.
They are intended to promote safe, respectful and responsible participation in SARG activities and the appropriate use of amateur radio infrastructure.
1. Conduct of Members
Members are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful, cooperative and responsible manner when representing SARG or participating in SARG activities.
Harassment, threatening behaviour, deliberate interference, discrimination or behaviour likely to bring SARG into disrepute is not acceptable.
2. Use of SARG Radio Systems
Users of SARG repeater and communications systems are expected to operate in accordance with applicable Australian amateur radio requirements and accepted amateur radio operating practice.
Operators should identify appropriately, allow reasonable access to shared systems and avoid unnecessary interference or excessive occupation of shared channels.
3. Repeater & Network Infrastructure
Installation, maintenance, configuration or modification of SARG-owned or SARG-managed infrastructure must be authorised by the SARG Committee or an authorised technical representative.
This includes repeater equipment, antennas, networking equipment, controllers, servers, digital systems, APRS infrastructure, MeshCore systems and associated equipment.
4. Digital & Network Services
Users of SARG-supported digital and network services should use those systems responsibly and must not deliberately interfere with, damage, overload or compromise network infrastructure.
Access credentials, administrative accounts or configuration information supplied for technical purposes must not be shared without authorisation.
5. Equipment & Property
Equipment, tools, hardware and other property owned by SARG must only be used for authorised purposes.
Members responsible for SARG equipment should take reasonable care of that equipment and report any damage, failure or loss to the Committee.
6. Safety
Safety is a priority when undertaking installation, maintenance, testing or other technical activities associated with SARG.
Members must not undertake work for which they are not suitably experienced, authorised or qualified where such qualifications are required.
7. Privacy & Member Information
Personal information supplied to SARG for membership or administrative purposes should only be used for legitimate association activities and handled responsibly.
Member contact information should not be distributed outside the organisation without an appropriate reason or the member's consent, except where required by law.
8. Committee Decisions
The Committee is responsible for the administration of SARG in accordance with the Constitution and resolutions of the association.
Operational decisions relating to infrastructure, expenditure, technical systems and association activities may be made by the Committee in accordance with its authority.
9. Complaints & Disputes
Members are encouraged to raise concerns respectfully with the Committee so that matters can be considered fairly and appropriately.
Serious complaints or disputes will be considered in accordance with the SARG Constitution and any applicable association procedures.
10. Amendment of Rules
These operational rules may be reviewed and amended from time to time by the SARG Committee where permitted by the Constitution.
Any rule inconsistent with the SARG Constitution or applicable law will be subject to the Constitution and applicable law.
Important
These Rules & Regulations should be read together with the Constitution of the South Australian Repeater Group Inc. Where there is any inconsistency, the Constitution and applicable legislation take precedence.

The mission of the South Australian Repeater Group Inc. (SARG) is to support, develop, maintain and promote reliable amateur radio communications infrastructure for the benefit of amateur radio operators and the wider community throughout South Australia.
